The Midwest Invitational Softball Tournament?started 26 years ago in 1984 as a championship game between the Columbus and Cleveland GLBT?softball leagues.?The event has grown into an annual tournament that is held every Labor Day Weekend and rotates between four host cities: Columbus, Cincinnati, Cleveland and Detroit. In addition to the host cities, MIST is?excited to welcome teams from Toronto, New York, Nashville, Winston Salem, Tampa, Indianapolis, and Louisville. While all teams come from GLBT sponsored leagues, any players is welcome and a part of many teams.
Labor of Love Volleyball Classic 19

In their 19th year the Labor of Love Volleyball Classic will host 33 teams with pool play on Saturday and a double elimination tourney on Sunday. The tournament is considered a national volleyball tournament and is a part of the North American Gay Volleyball Association circuit. Labor of Love Volleyball Classic will host teams?from?Toronto, Houston, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Louisville, Cincinnati, Cleveland, St. Louis and more.?It is a national tournament and is part of the North American Gay Volleyball Association circuit. A portion of the proceeds go to Project Open Hand through LifeCare Alliance.

The Greater Columbus Sports Commission (GCSC) was formed in June 2002 to provide leadership, guidance and marketing expertise in attracting regional, national and international sporting events and activities to bolster Greater Columbus economically and socially. Since its inception, GCSC has bid on and brought more than 150 new sporting events to Columbus that have generated an estimated $150 million in visitor spending. The GCSC also works to retain annual bid events that have generated an additional $100 million in visitor spending.
